A Message from Jon M. Huntsman, Sr.
Founder, Patient, Survivor
As you know, cancer touches all of our lives. As
my mother died of breast cancer in my arms at far too young an age, I made
the decision to devote the remainder of my life to fighting this terrible disease. At that time, I had no idea how I could make a difference. I just knew I could never give up. You haven't given up either. My humble thanks to you for your generous support of Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI).
This year HCI will provide 100,000 highly specialized cancer treatments to people from the Intermountain West, the United States, and beyond. We offer the only Phase I clinical program (often considered a cancer patient's last and best hope) of any clinical facility located between Denver and San Francisco. We will help 1 million people with their cancer questions through our award-winning website.
HCI is your cancer center. While our family was honored to help bring it to life, today it is sustained thanks to the support of 100,000 friends who stand with us. Thanks to our excellent research programs HCI is the #1 genetics research facility in the world. We have discovered more gene mutations responsible for inherited cancers than any other place in the world. Our discoveries have helped impact cancer patients regardless of where they live. The breadth of these discoveries includes genes responsible for:

- Head and Neck Cancers
- Thyroid Cancer
- And many more
