Lymphoma

Definition of Hodgkin's lymphoma: A cancer of the immune system that is marked by the presence of a type of cell called the Reed-Sternberg cell. The two major types of Hodgkin's lymphoma are classical Hodgkin's lymphoma and nodular lymphocyte-predominant Hodgkin's lymphoma.

Definition of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma: Any of a large group of cancers of the immune system. There are many different types of non-Hodgkin's lymphomas which can be divided into aggressive (fast-growing) and indolent (slow-growing) types and can be classified as either B-cell or T-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphomas include Burkitt lymphoma, diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, follicular lymphoma, immunoblastic large cell lymphoma, precursor B-lymphoblastic lymphoma, and mantle cell lymphoma.
