The PMPC team addresses physical, emotional, and interpersonal needs at the time of diagnosis, during or after cancer treatment, or with progressive disease. PAIN MEDICINE
Uncontrolled pain can interfere with cancer treatment and affects
quality of life. The PMPC team of medical specialists and other health-care
professionals provides a variety of pain treatments, including the following:
- Medications
- Anesthetic and surgical procedures
- Physical therapies
- Psychological, cognitive, behavioral interventions
With current methods, pain can be managed without

PALLIATIVE CARE
Palliative care is a comprehensive approach to care that enhances
quality of life for patients and their families. Palliative care
includes the following:
- Medical management of pain and other symptoms such as nausea and fatigue
- Psychological and spiritual support for patients and their families
- Advance care planning when disease is incurable
- Rehabilitation
- Psychiatric care
Palliative care is an integral part of cancer care whether a person has
just been diagnosed, is in active treatment, has been successfully

HOLISTIC MEDICINE
Holistic medicine promotes wellness. When patients are interested in reducing their risk of cancer or they have already been diagnosed, we may make referrals to providers of the following:
