Huntsman Cancer Institute’s cutting-edge breast care technology includes digital mammography and MRI.

We are the first health care organization in the Intermountain West to offer digital mammography, which allows doctors to better view abnormalities through image manipulation and computer enhancement. Digital mammography is proven to be especially useful in younger women and those with dense breast tissue. This technology is used for routine annual screenings as well as for diagnostic purposes and procedures.

Magnetic resonance imaging, or MRI, uses magnets, radio waves, and a computer to produce exceptionally clear and detailed images of internal structures of the body. This technology enables doctors to detect tiny changes of structures within the body, particularly in soft tissue such as breast tissue.
