The Operating Rooms of Huntsman Cancer Hospital provide world class care to both inpatient and outpatient oncology surgical patients. The Huntsman Operating Room (OR) consists of 5 rooms with plans to expand to 8 rooms with an upcoming hospital expansion. Our OR utilizes some of the most advanced surgical techniques, equipment and materials that are available for General Surgery, Urology, Plastics, Gynecology Oncology, Otolaryngology, Neurosurgery and Orthopedic surgical services.
 
Our team is comprised of RNs, Surgical Technicians, Health Care Assistants and Anesthesia Technicians. In cooperation with our renowned team of surgeons, we provide excellent care to approximately 250 cases each month. We have an OR internship program for RNs with or without experience who are interested in pursuing surgical nursing. This internship program incorporates skills and information not traditionally included in nursing school programs, to prepare you for the exiting and challenging role of being an OR nurse.
