The Nurses and Health Care Assistants of the Huntsman Short Stay Surgery Department deliver world class patient care at the highest level of proficiency and efficiency, individualizing the care given to each patient from their pre-operative preparation until the patient is recovered and discharged. Pre-procedure preparation includes a detailed history and labs or other diagnostic tests required to ensure a safe surgical experience for the patient.  Even after the patient goes home, follow up telephone calls are made to ensure the patient’s recovery has been uneventful. Appropriate referrals are made quickly and efficiently if any problems are identified. At least 1 year of Med/Surg nursing is required.
