An Update on Multiple Myeloma and Amyloidosis
On April 12, 2008, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) held an educational session for myeloma patients and their friends and family members in Denver, Colorado.
Dr. Guido Tricot and Dr. Maurizio Zangari of Huntsman Cancer Institute's Myeloma Program in Salt Lake City presented to the group, along with Dr. Choon-Kee Lee of the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.

Dr. Choon-Kee Lee of the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center reviews the characteristics of amyloidosis, a rare condition in which amyloid proteins are abnormally deposited in organs and tissues. Amyloidosis can be associated with multiple myeloma.
