Before joining HCI, Geri worked as a clinical social worker at the University of Utah Neuropsychiatric Institute, working with children, adolescents, and their families. She also spent 12 years at the University of Utah Solid Organ Transplant Program, working with recipients of heart, lung, and kidney transplants, as well as kidney donors. Geri has experience working with patients and families who are experiencing health and psychiatric emergencies, coordinating community support and resources, and providing supportive counseling and education to patients and their families. Patient & Family Support (Blood and Marrow Transplants) Our HCI Blood and Marrow transplant licensed clinical social worker, Nichole Robinson, is dedicated to helping patients and their loved ones deal with difficult emotions and life changes related to a diagnosis of hematological diseases, leukemia, lymphoma, and other transplant treatable diseases. Through counseling and other assistance, Nichole focuses on meeting the emotional, social, practical, and psychological needs of patients. She can also assist you, your family, and others in using hospital and community resources. She facilitates a caregiver support and education group that meets on Thursday from 1 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the BMT Inpatient Conference Room on the 5th floor of the University of Utah Hospital. Lunch is provided for those who attend, and patients are asked to bring their patient education binders to the meeting. You can contact Nichole by calling 801-585-1845. About Nichole Robinson Before joining HCI, Nichole worked as a crisis social worker in the emergency department at the University of Utah Hospital. She was also a pharmacy social worker, which involved providing education and support to transplant patients.
