| Hometown Heroes cycled for the cure in America's Most Beautiful Ride on June 6, 2004. This event was a road ride, not a race, around beautiful Lake Tahoe. Participants enjoyed the gorgeous views that only Lake Tahoe has to offer from your bike on this 100-mile ride! Hometown Heroes, an interactive endurance training program, trains participants for the event and for raising much-needed money to support the mission of Huntsman Cancer Institute. Staff, coaches, fellow participants, and honored patients support committed participants in meeting both their physical and financial goals. Participants will be provided with travel to the event, as well as lodging, event entry fees, incentives, and team apparel. Each Hometown Hero commits to raising a minimum of $3800 for participating in this event. HCI's Hometown Heroes program promises to spend no more than 25 percent of the money raised on expenses. The remaining 75 percent of the funds raised will benefit HCI's mission. Participants
