I remember being completely overwhelmed with my skin cancer diagnosis of malignant melanoma, then being told my ear "had to go". Why did this happen to me? And it seemed so sudden and drastic. My doctor called over a ear prosthetics specialist to inform me of my options. He helped answer some questions and concerns and was a note of calm during an otherwise out-of-control time of my life.
A few weeks after my surgery, the same ear prosthetics specialist crafted me a new ear which is now almost a part of me. People have no idea it isn't real and I feel as comfortable in public as I did before the surgery. Huntsman Cancer Hospital not only treated my cancer, they helped me back to my normal life. – Alan
