Patients will receive separate bills from doctors involved in their care and for services received in Huntsman Cancer Hospital. The hospital will forward the hospital bill to the patient's insurance company and send the patient a copy.
The hospital will make every effort to collect payment from a patient's insurance carrier(s). It is the patient's responsibility to know their policy benefits and specific provisions and to ensure insurance companies have paid their portion of the bills. If insurance does not pay within a reasonable amount of time, the hospital will look to the patient for payment. If patients need to make arrangements for payment or have questions concerning their hospital bill, call the Patient Accounting Department at 801-238-6603 or toll free at 800-862-4937.
Financial counselors help patients understand medical bills and insurance benefits and can assist in finding financial resources to help pay for care, medicine, or supplies during treatment.
