Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) uses a team approach to treatment. That means you will see many providers from different branches of medicine and health care. As part of the University of Utah, HCI is also a teaching hospital, and you will also see medical students on the health care team.

The health care team includes the following:

• Surgeons
• Oncologists
• Residents
• Fellows
• Nurses
• Advanced Practice Nurses and Physician Assistants
• Dietitians
• Social Workers
• Physical/Speech Therapists

You may also see other personnel such as financial counselors, discharge planners, or other hospital staff. Interpreters are available upon request.
