The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at the cancer hospital is comprised of 10 stations designed for the care of patients following their surgery. In the operating room, a variety of surgical specialties are performed on a daily basis for patients who then recover in PACU. We see patients from general surgery, neurosurgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery, orthopedics, gynecological oncology, urology, otolaryngology, and endoscopy.
The PACU team is comprised of RNs and health care assistants. Prior experience in a PACU, ICU or ER is preferred. ACLS and PALS certifications are required or completed within three months after hire.
