Abraham Potolsky, MD, is an adjunct associate professor in the Division of Oncology, Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Utah School of Medicine. He is also a Huntsman Cancer Institute investigator and physician in the Internal Medicine Acute Care (IMAC) Clinic.
The IMAC Clinic is a same-day service available to all Huntsman Cancer Institute patients experiencing acute problems such as nausea or vomiting, infections, or side effects of cancer treatment. This service enables Huntsman Cancer Institute to provide patients with timely, quality, full-service care and to ease the busy schedules of specialists.
Originally from Brooklyn, New York, "Dr. P" received his medical degree from the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center, graduating summa cum laude in 1965. Following, he completed residencies at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, and Stanford University Hospital in California. Potolsky served as Lieutenant-Commander Senior Grade with the Centers for Disease Control and worked at the Sansum Medical Clinic in Santa Barbara, California, for 25 years. Before joining Huntsman Cancer Institute, he was Acting Medical Director for Santa Barbara County.
