Robert Wong, MD, is a visiting instructor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University
of Utah and a member of a multidisciplinary research training program at Huntsman Cancer Institute,
where he investigates genetic profiling in the colon, including research in patients at high risk
for colon cancer. He is a gastroenterologist with interests in gastrointestinal oncology, including
cancers of the pancreas and colon. He is also interested in endoscopic diagnosis of graft-versus-
host disease and familial pancreatic cancer. He has a special interest in endoscopic ultrasound and
the early detection of gastrointestinal cancers.
Wong received his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine and completed his
internal medicine internship and residency at the University of Virginia. He recently finished a
fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Utah and will obtain further training in
endoscopic ultrasound at the University of Texas Medical Branch.
