Survivor Stories

During your stay, our staff of physicians and health care professionals will make your visit here as comfortable as possible, while providing you with the latest in health care technology. This page will walk you through the process of becoming an “inpatient” (a patient staying overnight or longer).

What to consider bringing

  • Long-distance telephone calling card
  • Battery-operated shaver/razor
  • Toothbrush, deodorant, shampoo, hairbrush, lotion (soap and toothpaste are available.)

Parking

Free valet service is available for patients and visitors from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the front door of the hospital. Self parking in the terrace is also free of charge with a validation.

Admitting

Your doctor will decide what day you will be admitted, unless you are being admitted from the outpatient clinics, in which case they will schedule your admittance.

Admitting Office

When you arrive at the hospital, please stop at the information desk on the first floor of the hospital, where you will be given directions to admitting.

Please bring with you:

  • Identification and Social Security card
  • Insurance card and preauthorization number, if needed
  • Insurance forms, if required by your insurance company
  • Copayment if required
  • List of all current medications you take
  • Advance directives

Visitors

The hospital promotes a family friendly environment. Children are welcome to visit; however, it is important they remain under the supervision of an adult. If you have questions about visiting hours, please check with the patient’s nurse or charge nurse.

We also recognize the important part animals can play in healing. Family pets may visit provided that approval is obtained from the health care team prior to each visit. Not all pets are eligible for visitation; please review the regulations with a nurse. If a pet is unable to visit, arrangements can be made for visitation from a certified therapy dog or cat.

Please note: Due to the increasing frequency and severity of latex allergies, latex balloons are not permitted in the hospital. Please plan accordingly when selecting gifts for hospital patients.
