Akram Shaaban, MBBCh

Akram Shaaban, MBBCh, is an associate professor in the Department of Radiology at the University of Utah. He is also a cancer investigator at Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI). At HCI, Shaaban specializes in radiology with the Hepatobiliary Cancer Research Program (HBCRP). This program researches cancer of the liver and bile ducts.
Shaaban is certified by the American Board of Radiology. He is fellowship trained in both cardiac imaging and body imaging. He completed residencies at the University of Utah School of Medicine and at the University of Alexandria Hospitals in Egypt. He earned a MBBCh (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, equivalent to an American MD) degree from the University of Alexandria.
