Lewis Frey, PhD

Assistant Professor, Department of Biomedical Informatics

Lewis Frey, PhD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at the University of Utah and a member of the Cancer Control and Population Sciences Program at Huntsman Cancer Institute.

Frey has worked extensively on the cancer biomedical informatics grid (caBIG) for the National Cancer Institute, with interest in how it can be applied to personalized medicine. He researches methods of combining multiple data sets and seeks to identify biomarker signatures in expression data for diagnosis and prognosis of lung, breast, and colon cancers.

Frey received a bachelor's degree and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh and received a PhD from Vanderbilt University, Nashville.
