Ying Hitchcock, MD

Assistant Professor, Department of Radiation Oncology

Ying Hitchcock, MD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Utah and an investigator and physician at Huntsman Cancer Institute. She specializes in head, neck, skin cancers, and sarcomas. She treats all forms of cancer in her practice.

Hitchcock has served as the department's residency program director since 2003. In this capacity, she has received the Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award twice, from the Association of Residents in Radiation Oncology (ARRO) for the 2006-2007 and 2008-2009 academic years.

Hitchcock received a medical degree from the Peking Union Medical College Graduate School in Beijing, China, where she specialized in head and neck surgery. She completed an internship in general surgery at the State University of New York at Buffalo Graduate Medical-Dental Education Consortium and a residency in radiation oncology at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute, also in Buffalo.
