Maureen Murtaugh, PhD, RD, is an associate professor in the Division of Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Utah and a member of the Cancer Control and Population Sciences Program at Huntsman Cancer Institute.
Murtaugh is a nutrition epidemiologist who conducts research on the role of nutrition in the development of disease, particularly breast and colorectal cancer. She also examines diet in American Indians and Alaska natives as well as the relationship between nutrition and cancer survivorship.
Murtaugh received a PhD from the University of Connecticut, Storrs and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Minnesota. Before joining the University of Utah, she was a faculty member at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago.
