Joshua Schiffman, MD, is a Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) investigator and associate professor in the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, Department of Oncological Sciences at the University of Utah. He is a member of the Cancer Control and Population Sciences Program, and co-leader of the Liquid Tumor Group for the Center for Children's Cancer Research (3CR). He is the medical director for the Pediatric High Risk Cancer Clinic, part of the Family Cancer Assessment Clinic (FCAC) at HCI.
Schiffman studies pediatric hereditary cancer syndromes with a special interest in genetic susceptibility to childhood cancers. His laboratory also investigates molecular changes in leukemia and Ewing's sarcoma, and the germline genetic variation that gives rise to childhood tumors.
Schiffman earned both a bachelor's and medical degree from Brown University, Rhode Island. He completed a fellowship at Stanford University School of Medicine in California.
