Ming Wen, PhD, is an associate professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of Utah and a member of the Cancer Control and Population Sciences Program at Huntsman Cancer Institute.
Wen is interested in the study of social and environmental factors and their effect on health-related outcomes throughout life. One project examines cancer risk factors including physical activity, smoking and cancer screening in seven of the largest Asian-American groups by studying the effects of ethnicity, nativity, years in the United States, and neighborhood social, demographic, and physical characteristics. The study uses California Health Interview Survey (CHIS) and census data.
Wen received a bachelor's degree from Peking University, China, and a PhD from the University of Chicago.
