Randall W. Burt, MD, Medical Director

The Familial Colon Cancer Registry was initiated in April of 1998 to enroll individuals from families at increased risk of developing colon cancer and those who have or are at-risk of developing a known hereditary polyp syndrome, including:

  • Familial adenomatous polyposis [FAP]
  • Attenuated adenomatous polyposis coli [AAPC]
  • Juvenile polyposis, hyperplastic polyposis
  • Hereditary mixed polyposis syndrome

The Registry has two primary functions: to create a research resource from which investigators can draw potential study participants, and to serve as an educational resource for participants, their physicians and other health care providers.

The Registry is a member of the international Leeds-Castle Polyposis Group and the Collaborative Group of the Americas on Inherited Colorectal Cancer.
