The Health Education and Active Living in Surviving Seniors (HEALS) Project examines quality of life and physical function outcomes in female cancer survivors age 55 and older. Participants attend classes in Tai Chi Chih (a simplified form of Tai Chi) or Health Education for 12 weeks.
The study will analyze the impact of Tai Chi Chih on physical performance, biomarkers, and mental and physical quality of life in adult female cancer survivors. The results may provide improved health recommendations and ultimately lead to insurance reimbursement for cancer survivors in wellness programs.
