Graduate Studies

Research faculty, post-doctoral fellows, graduate students, and physicians form an interactive scientific community at Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) that is ideal for training graduate studies in the field of cancer biology. HCI researchers teach classes in their diverse areas of expertise, and the Institute sponsors a seminar series featuring cancer-focused themes and prominent scientists from the U.S. and abroad. State-of-the-art laboratories and facilities at HCI create the ideal environment for students to learn and meet their research goals.

HCI is part of the larger medical and scientific community of the University of Utah. To provide students with the largest number of laboratory choices, students are offered admission in one of two interdisciplinary programs, the Molecular Biology Program and the Biological Chemistry Program. Although each program emphasizes a slightly different curriculum, both programs offer students the opportunity to work in a laboratory affiliated with Huntsman Cancer Institute. Visit the Molecular Biology Program or Biological Chemistry Program websites to learn more.
